The Messages app supports editing and deleting messages as well as marking messages unread. Multiple Lock Screens are supported and can be linked with Focus modes. iOS 16 brings an overhauled Lock Screen with customizable wallpapers, time, and widgets, plus notifications have been updated to roll in from the bottom of the display. Public beta testers who have signed up for Apple's free beta testing program can download the second iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 betas over the air after installing the proper certificate from the Public Beta website. Today's beta comes two weeks after the second public beta, and it corresponds with the fifth developer beta. You may need to restart your phone for the profile to activate.Apple today seeded the third betas of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 to public beta testers, opening up the iOS 16 beta testing process to the general public.You’ll have to reenter your password and agree to the usual very long consent statement by tapping Install one more time. Select Install in the top-right corner.Select it, and you’ll have access to the beta software download. A new section called Profile Downloaded should be added near the top. You will get a pop-up window that says you can set the new profile from the Settings app. This will bring up a warning that says the website is trying to download a configuration profile. Continue to scroll down until you find a button that says Download profile, then tap on it.Under Get started, select Enroll your iPhone/iPad and be greeted with a reminder on how to create a backup of your device’s content onto a Mac in case you need to revert to a previous state. Once you’ve agreed, scroll down to review Apple’s information about providing feedback (select iOS or iPadOS in the submenu for more relevant info).You should see the iOS 16 update there select Download and Install, and follow the instructions from there. Once all that is done, you can update your software just as you would normally: by going to Settings > General > Software Update.Select iPadOS 16 Public Beta under Beta Updates.If not, tap on the ID and select Use a different Apple ID. Select Beta Updates, and check to make sure the correct Apple ID is at the bottom of the screen. You should now see a new Beta Updates option right under Automatic Updates. Now go back to Settings > General > Software Update.Under Get Started, you can select Enroll your iPhone/iPad and be greeted with a reminder on how to create a backup of your device’s content onto a Mac in case you need to revert to a previous state.
